Our gold plated jewelry is made using the latest in vacuum plating technology. The process called Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) creates a strong and thick (3 Micron) surface that is up to 6 times longer lasting than standard plating and ensures a vivid brilliant finish. Though we use advanced plating techniques, all plated jewelry is susceptible to wear over time and will begin to fade. This is why you should follow some simple rules to keep your piece in good condition for many years.
- Substances like oil, soap, moisturizer, chlorine and perfume can react with the plating and will cause it to tarnish, this includes sweat. So avoid direct contact with these substances to prolong the life of your new piece.
- Gently rub the surface of your jewelry using a soft dry cloth to help restore shine.
- If your jewelry needs further cleaning use warm, soapy water. Soak it for a few minutes and clean it with a soft cloth. Stay away from jewelry cleaners and chemicals that could potentially react with the surface of you jewelry and affect the plating.
- To avoid scratches, wrap your jewelry in a soft cloth after cleaning or keep it in a box separate from your other jewelry.
